Project Title
Eyre Brothers
Waugh Thistleton have designed a grown up and glamorous restaurant in Shoreditch's burgeoning Leonard Street. Inside, the kitchen runs the length of the back wall and is charaterised by glaringly hygienic surfaces - stainless steel and white body glass - and bright lights. In contrast, the dining area is composed of warm, sustainable hardwoods, leather, bronze and coloured glass, and minimal, diffused lighting.

The exterior of the building comprises of giant plate glass windows allowing the light to flood through. As the evening darkens, the outside aspects dissolve into the shadows and the observers inside the restaurants become the observed themselves. The architects were keen to fit out a restaurant that had a high level of quality and comfort, yet still maintained a decorative sparseness leaving the diners to concentrate on the food and their friends.
