Waugh Thistleton combined simplicity and intricacy in this flat to create a classic and domestic environment. As the space was already clearly characterized by a massive concrete frame and large areas of glazing, all interventions by us were clearly expressed as separate from the original building, maintaining the sense of the original shell. The defining feature of the flat is a four metre partition wall, which, with a simple sliding movement creates many different environments in the one space.
