Cambalt Mews
Cambalt Mews, a six-unit residential development on a backlands site in Putney, is testament to our desire to work to a new aesthetic, rather than mimicking the style of surrounding buildings. While the use of timber and stone takes its inspiration from surrounding buildings, we used both in a contemporary way. In the aim of working with the surroundings in the most sensitive manner, we decided that the whole mews should be sunk by two metres. This will result in three-storey units that appear as only two storeys from most angles.
