9 new apartments and 307 sqm of commercial space are currently being built on the site of our new development in Shoreditch (next door to our offices). The brick building is now out of the ground and swiftly growing and due for completion autumn 2012.

POD Great Eastern

As of next Monday, 3 of our 5 new POD outlets will be open. Pictured above, POD Great Eastern Street has been painted using Ecos Organic paints both externally and internally and is due to open on Monday 16th April.

Stoke Newington

Work is swiftly progressing on site at Stoke Newington Road. The top floor steel work is complete and the development has now been topped out, due for completion in Autumn of 2012.

Tramshed

The Grade II listed Tramshed in Shoreditch, once a sub-station powering London’s electric transport system, is currently being renovated and will open as Mark Hix’s new restaurant in Spring 2012.

Hurst

Following the success of its neighbouring house, which we completed last year, we are now working to planning for a private housing project in Highgate. The proposal creates a split level dwelling with a central light well, incorporating a music studio and indoor pool. The design responds to the needs of an ordered family life whilst providing a fun experience to live in.

POD

Whitmore scaffold

As the scaffold comes off Whitmore Road, the British Sweet Chestnut cladding is exposed. Work continues on the interior fit out. Completion is due in late spring.

WTA in France

We have won a competition for a 9 unit experimental social housing scheme in Mions, France. This small but ambitious project will have a high level of environmental credentials: not only will the structure be from cross laminated timber but the insulation will be a wood fibre, the cladding made of timber board and a communal heating system will be fired by wood pellets.

Boxpark open

The highly anticipated Boxpark shopping mall has now opened. The Waugh Thistleton designed site now sees the stacked shipping containers play host to retailers from Nike and Calvin Klein with food from Pieminister and Chopp’d.

Whitemore Road

The KLH timber structure has recently been completed at 52 Whitmore Road and the roofers are currently on site. The British Sweet Chestnut cladding is due to arrive just before Christmas so it won’t be long before the outer shell of the building is under way.
