Project Title
We have been commissioned to design a Synagogue within a disused Jewish cemetery in Victoria Park.

The design, developed with extensive consultation with the local community and the rabbinical court, is of a massing and modern style that has never been seen in London Synagogue architecture to date. Simultaneously, however, the building will present a solid, down-to-earth exterior that sits timelessly in the site as if it had been there forever. Sensitive in its materials and massing to the local environment, the Synagogue is unapologetic in its bold aesthetic. It immediately appears immovable and bold without being imposing in its size.

The building's shell is punctured, casting shards of light into the internal areas. The effect is a serene space that encourages reflection and contemplation. A mirrored skylight reflects high-level light into the space, heightening the experience.
